Sam from ‘Sam CarLegion’ brought a Ford Mustang and a Volkswagen Jetta for a race on the drag strip
The Volkswagen Jetta GLI comes with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out 228 HP and 258 lb/ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox powers the front wheels
The Ford Mustang also features a four-pot turbocharged mill, but it displaces 2.3 liters. It makes 330 HP and 350 lb/ft of twist. The rear wheels are powered here via a 10-speed automatic gearbox
Next up was a roll race from 31 mph (50 kph) with the cars in Sport modes and Traction Control on. At kickdown, both cars were neck-and-neck. However, the Jetta slowly took the lead and won yet again
They tried another roll race, this time with the gearbox in manual mode. It didn’t help the Mustang in any way as the Jetta went on to score a clean sweep over its American rival
