Alfa Romeo is very busy preparing a replacement for their current 147 model. The Italian automaker has chosen the Milano name as the 147’s successor, in the honor of the Italian fashion capital, Milan. The car’s official debut will either be at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show or in 2010 at Geneva.

The new Milano will share its platform with the future Alfa 159 (or Giulia as it is more commonly known). The platform, called C-Evo, will be available in both front and four wheel drive layouts. With the 4WD version reserved for future GTA models.

Under the hood Alfa Romeo will use both four and six cylinder engines to power the Milano, making 120 and 265 HP respectively.
