It's been less than a year since Luca di Montezemolo stepped down as president of Ferrari, and it seems that yet another executive has resigned from Maranello. According to reports from Italy, company CEO Amedeo Felisa has quit the position he has held since 2008. No reason for the alleged decision was mentioned and while some reports claim Felisa has already resigned, other channels indicate the might not leave the company until September.

Felisa, 69, has been part of the senior team at Ferrari->ke252 since 1990. He joined the company as technical director, became general manager in 2006, and succeeded Jean Todt as CEO in 2008. Previously, he had spent 18 years with Alfa Romeo,->ke1386 where he became head of product development in 1987.

If these rumors prove to be true, Felisa's resignation comes on the brink of Ferrari filing its initial public offering, a move FCA boss Sergio Marchionne announced in October 2014. Felisa's alleged exit could affect the public offering due to its potentially destabilizing effect, but it remains to be seen whether Ferrari will come out with an official statement on the matter. Why it matters

Felisa's departure would be the biggest shakeup at Maranello since di Montezemolo's exit in October 2014, and it would come at a time that's not exactly convenient for Ferrari or FCA. Di Montezemolo's departure has already given rise to unrest about Maranello's future and a new change at the top would surely damage the brand's image in the short term.
