If you have an inclination towards 6x6 trucks, there’s a good chance you would’ve heard of Apocalypse. Remember the Hellfire 6x6? After building a six-wheel-drive truck based on the Jeep Gladiator. the aftermarket company has now taken a bigger truck under its wing for a similar build – presenting to you, the Apocalypse Warlord, a 6x6 truck based on the Ram 1500 TRX.

What’s Special About The Warlord?

Apocalypse has installed a middle axle to turn the standard Ram TRX into a six-wheel-drive truck. Of course, it required a lot of changes under the skin, too. It sits higher off the ground and even comes with 37-inch mud-terrain tires as standard. The company has equipped a RamBar with a spare tire mounted in the truck bed.

There are no significant styling changes, otherwise. It comes with extended wing mirrors, which should be telescopic, perhaps. The truck is finished in a glossy black/grey shade that looks like a wrap. Overall, it sure looks menacing, but without drifting too far away from the standard TRX.

It continues to be powered by the same 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 HEMI Hellcat engine that generates 702 horses and 650 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox and a heavy-duty advanced four-wheel-drive system in the stock form. Here, it comes with a six-wheel-drive system. Since there's no work on the mechanical details, we're assuming the same gearbox has been tweaked here. The truck has enough oomph, but it won’t feel as sprightly or agile as the standard TRX due to the extended length, change in driving dynamics, and the extra weight, of course.

How Much Does The Apocalypse Warlord Cost?

The Apocalypse Warlord 6x6 starts at $250,000. This is almost four times the cost of a brand-new Ram TRX, which starts at around $70,000.

Believe It Or Not, The Warlord Has Competition!

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing a TRX-based truck with six wheels. Hennessey built a 6x6 TRX called the Mammoth. But, instead of retaining the same Hellcat drivetrain, it swapped it in favor of a mighty big Hellephant engine that makes 1,200 horses in here.

If you are looking to splurge six-digit figures, there are many other options. You can get yourself a Rezvani Hercules, another 6x6 truck that makes up to 1,300 horses, or the Gladiator-based 6x6 by So-Flo, or the Hellfire 6x6 from the Apocalypse. There was another 6x6 truck built on the Gladiator by a company called Next Level that was launched sometime back. And, how can we forget the Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6? So, there are a lot of options out there for you to choose from, in case you are looking to own a truck with three axles.
