It's been only three months since Ferrari's latest supercar, the SF90 Stradale, made its official debut, and the Italian firm is already planning to introduce two new vehicles. This time around, Maranello is preparing F8 Tributo Spider and the 812 Superfast Spider. How do we know? Well, Ferrari unveiled one at a private event and showcased the other one on a gift paperweight at the same presentation.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is finally losing its top

Rumored for quite a few years, the convertible version of the 812 Superfast is finally becoming a thing. The vehicle was showcased at a private customer event and the folks over at Cavallino Rampante, a Ferrari fan page on Facebook, took a snap of the car. Although the image is of poor quality, we can clearly see the familiar features of the 812 Superfast. The car is missing the roof, and it features two flying buttresses instead of the traditional, slanted rear window. These elements look like those seen on the SP1 and SP2 Monza, two bespoke cars from 2018 based on the 812 Superfast.

Needless to say, the drop-top should remain identical to the coupe inside the cabin and under the skin. Expect it to arrive with the same 6.5-liter V-12 engine rated at 789 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque and hit 60 mph in the same 2.8 seconds as the coupe. Top speed will probably be lower than the coupe's 211-mph rating with the top down.

Although it won't see improvements performance-wise, this car is big news as Ferrari rarely offers convertible versions of its grand tourers. The F12berlinetta didn't have one, and the last drop-top grand tourer dates back to the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta from 2010. And this was a special, limited-edition model only.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo will become cooler without a roof

Unlike the 812 Superfast, has yet to showcase the Spider version of the F8 Tributo in the metal, but it handed out paperweights depicting the silhouette of the car. Presented with the caption "New V8 Spider," the silhouette looks exactly like an F8 Tributo, but without a roof and with subtle changes behind the B-pillars. The F8 Tributo Spider will arrive to replace the 488 Spider, so it's safe to assume that it will have the same underpinnings as the coupe.

The F8 Tributo shares internals with the 488 Pista, a higher performance version of the 488 GTB. The twin-turbo, 3.9-liter V-8 engine cranks out 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful V-8 Ferrari to date. But don't let the less powerful V-8 fool you. This thing is just as quick as the V-12-powered 812 Superfast. It needs 2.8 seconds to hit 60 mph from a standing start and reaches a top speed of 211 mph.

Both cars should arrive for 2020

There's no official word as to when these vehicles will be unveiled, but the 812 Superfast Spider (or Aperta) should be here by the end of 2019. A Frankfurt Motor Show debut next week is very likely. The F8 Tributo Spider will probably brake cover at the Los Angeles Auto Show later in 2019. All told, both Ferraris will arrive as 2020-model-year cars in the United States.
