There’s a company based in Japan known as Arrows, and it will turn your Mercedes-Benz W124 estate into a stylish wagon ready to gulp down miles on scenic country roads.

Mercedes-Benz W124 Station Wagnon Restoration at its Finest

With the introduction of SUVs and crossovers, the sedan/station wagon ilk has taken a major hit. Retro estates are an even rarer sight these days, but you could change that with a little help from Arrows.

To get your retrolicious W124, you’ll have to check out the Arrows Classic Line range first. As part of this program, Arrows will take any W124, no matter its state, and turn it into a factory-like mirror image what the original used to be.

For now, you can select one of the three original Mercedes-Benz body paint choices: Rodeo Gray, Light Ivory, or Pueblo Beige, and Arrows says it will look after every inch of the car – from chassis to engine.

This one brings new wood inserts for the dashboard, German-made fabric for the seat upholstery (see the dandy ‘80-style checkered pattern), a rear-facing third row of seats positioned in the trunk and an airbag-fitted steering wheel for a plus on the safety side.

If we are to talk turkey, you’re looking at a minimum restoration price of ¥2 million ($18,240/€16,230) – that's if you provide the base car. In case you ask Arrows to supply the car as well, then you’re looking at a ¥3 million starting fee ($27,340/€24,350).
