It looks like Aston Martin isn't done yet with the Valkyrie series. A recent scoop tipped off to Jalopnik reveals a heavily modified version of Aston's upcoming hypercar. Unlike some renders, we can be rest assured that this new aggressive avatar of the Valkyrie is for real as it was found on Aston Martin's official website.
Did Aston accidentally reveal its upcoming hypercar?
Is all-new Aston Martin Valkyrie on the horizon already? Well, it looks like Aston unintentionally teased a rather special track-only Version Of the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
We already know a lot about Adrian Newey's Valkyrie, although it may not be the only variant of this super rare exotic that the company plans to launch. Behold, a hypercar that Aston is yet to reveal. An anonymous person tipped of Jalopnik and sent a screenshot of the Aston Martin website that shows a rendering of an unusual-looking Valkyrie never seen before.
The car was leaked online from Aston Martin's own website. It appears Aston left the future Valkyrie model accessible to the public through the not-so-private “Private Area” URL by mistake.
Jalopnik reached out to Aston Martin for comment about the car and, as usual, they received the standard response from the company stating that they don’t speculate about future products. Also, that private URL is no longer working.
Even then, from this rendering alone, we can clearly notice a number of changes made to the regular Valkyrie. Now, we can’t really call a Valkyrie, REGULAR can we? One of the most obvious changes has to be that dramatic wing at the rear which now sits higher and is far more swoopier than seen on the AMR Pro.
We can also see a new shark fin over the engine bay. We wonder if this has anything to do with Mercedes Benz's recent investment in the British automaker. Merc’s AMG Project One also embodies a similar shark fin design.
It also appears that this wild new Valkyrie has a shorter hood leading up to the windshield. This can be attributed to that lowered front-end design, which now wears a new splitter and has a narrower set of attachment points.
The front fenders of the car also see several revisions that now have a steeper and a significantly larger cutaway from the rest of the body. The cutouts on the fenders make them appear much taller as well. The almost enclosed turbofan-style wheels complete the transformation.
The Valkyrie with its 11,000-RPM Cosworth V12 is still on its way if the company keeps the timeline that it gave back in February. The very first customer deliveries should begin soon.
If we recall, Aston Martin co-developed the Valkyrie along with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, and it has been a long time coming. It was first revealed to the public back in 2017 by the then Redbull F1 drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricardo. The hypercar was also slated to compete in endurance racing at Le Mans.
In due course, there were some changes in the rules and Mercedes-Benz ended up buying shares of the British automaker. With that, Aston Martin entered Formula 1 as a competitor to Red Bull, and suddenly, the relationship between the two partners took a turn for the worse.
Whatever might be the case, we’ll hopefully know more about the mysterious hypercar before the end of the year. It is likely that this new Variant of the Valkyrie might go on sale later this year.
