It's been a full month since the successor to the Aston Martin DB9->ke210 was spotted testing at the Nurburgring, and two weeks since it made its first public appearance with new bodywork, and the upcoming grand tourer surfaced yet again. Is it just me, or is the next DB9 -- likely to be named the DB11 -- coming out to play once every two weeks? Coincidence or not, what's important here is that the Brits are busy working on the new GT, more so since the model depicted above and below will introduce Aston Martin's->ke13 new platform and the AMG->ke8-sourced, 4.0-liter V-8.

According to our trusty paparazzi, who also sent a batch of photos our way, the DB9 successor returned for another testing session at the Nurburgring.->ke999 Still wearing the prototype shell we first saw earlier in April, but now wrapped in black-and-blue camouflage, the coupe remains a mystery from a design standpoint, as the front grille, the tailpipes, and the wheels are the only details left in the open. Yes, there isn't much to talk about besides what we already know. Namely that the DB9 will be restyled into a sleeker grand tourer with cues borrowed from the DB10 James Bond movie car.

Why it matters

While these photos don't bring any actual news about the DB9 successor, save for the fact that Aston Martin has returned to the 'Ring for all sorts of measurements, they confirm development of the new vehicle is well underway. And although it won't break cover officially until 2016, I'm sure we'll see more of it by the end of 2015.
