We didn’t find it the least bit surprising to find out that our British chaps consider Aston Martin as the country’s “coolest” brand. Home country advantage aside, there’s a lot to like about Aston Martin, and apparently, the folks over at the UK seem to think so too.

In a survey – the Superbrands Cool Survey - conducted by the Center for Brand Analysis in the UK, Aston Martin came out on top as the coolest brand in the country, beating out 500 other companies in the study. Over 2,000 editorial and bran consultants were invited to share there inputs on a number of companies and the resulting conclusion determined that Aston Martin is the coolest brand in the UK, trumping other worldwide luminaries, including the iPhone, Harley-Davidson, Ferrari and Blackberry.

Ok, so it’s not exactly a shock to see Aston Martin on top of the UK’s cool rankings, although we can’t help but think that there may have been some form of bias here given that the study was done at the same country that Aston Martin calls home.

Continued after the jump.

In any case though, Aston Martin’s a pretty sweet brand no matter which part of the world you’re on. Whether you’re in the UK, in the US, or even in the Philippines, when you’re sitting behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, your coolness rating goes off the charts.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

Wow! its a nice thing to know that this car is quite popular in its home country so it seems that UK is kind of patriotic. However, i don’t think that Aston Martin is popular in Asia because it is where the Korean and Japanese are located.

Coolness isn’t as tied to affordability and exclusivity in Europe as it is in the US. The Ford reached a noticeable level of coolness despite being a very affordable car. So just because you know a dozen people with an iPhone doesn’t mean they can’t be cool.

Indeed - one of them is marketing to make it desirable the other one is actual beauty to be desired.
