Aston Martin has announced that for the first time in 93-year history will build cars outside Great Britain. Potential countries are: Germany, Italy, Austria.

Aston Martin is current in talking with the companies: Pininfarina, Magna, Karmann and Valmet, a Finnish group which builds the Boxster for Porsche. The final decision will be made in the next weeks.

The first model to be built outside UK will be the future four-door coupe Rapide, that will be launched in 2009.

No offence...but this would be similar to Corvette being built in Mexico. Or Canada for that matter. If we’re talking about an Impala or an F150 that’s fine...but we’re talking about a symbol of national prowess. Surely such a travesty will never be allowed to happen...
