Unveiled in 2017, the Valkyrie is by far Aston Martin's most spectacular and radical vehicle yet. It's extreme compared to other supercars too, mostly because it blends the designs of Le Mans prototypes and Formula One cars in a very unique way. But Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing didn't stop there and took the concept to new heights with a track-only version under the AMR Pro banner. The car was just unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and it eclipses just about anything at the Swiss event, including the new and brutal McLaren Senna GTR.

Although the Valkyrie AMR Pro won't reach its customers until 2020, Aston Martin takes no prisoners when it comes to keeping the hype at peak levels. We don't even know the full specs yet, but the AMR Pro feels impressive even with that much mystery around it. I guess that what makes it so special and what enabled Aston Martin to sell all 25 units in a matter of months.

Beyond the extreme design, which almost trumps the radical McLaren Senna, the Valkyrie AMR Pro benefits from arguably the best power-to-weight ratio out there. Thanks to its lightweight construction and the removal of many convenience features, such as the heater and infotainment screens from the road, the AMR Pro tips the scales at only 1,000 kg. At the same time, it's capable of generating more than its own weight in downforce. Specifically, the 6.5-liter V-12 and the Energy Recovery System are capable of generating a combined output of more than 1,100 horsepower, a figure that comfortably exceeds the 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. Koenigsegg One:1 who?

There are no performance numbers to talk about beyond the car's capability to hit 225 mph, which is mighty impressive for a high downforce track car, but it should be able to hit 60 mph from a standing start in less than 2.5 seconds. And according to Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing's chief technical officer, the Valkyrie AMR Pro has already posted a few impressive lap records.

"The Aston Martin Valkyrie road car draws extensively from the knowledge I have gained during my career in Formula One, but the AMR Pro version has allowed me to work beyond the constraints of road legality, or indeed practicality! We’ve told a few of its secrets, but by no means all. I will leave it to the public to ponder the lap time predictions. Suffice to say they’re quite impressive," Newey said in a statement.

I'm definitely looking forward to more information on that!
