Next year is practically days away and Aston Martin still hasn’t chosen a name for their 2011 Le Mans Race Car, so let’s help them out a little, shall we? The company has placed an online page where you can go and register the name you think would be fitting of their new racer. All you have to do is choose an emotive name that truly captures the personality behind this year’s entry, and back it up with a reason why you chose it.

Registering the name of your choice will give all enthusiasts the opportunity to be a part of Aston Martin’s history, something that isn’t presented to any of us on a daily - heck even yearly - basis. Participants will also be entering for the chance to win a range of Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing Merchandise.

Aston Martin and Prodrive chairman, David Richards said, "Having won the GT category twice at Le Mans in 2007 and 2008 and the Le Mans Series outright in 2009, we still want to achieve our ultimate goal of winning the 24 Hour race overall to bring the title back to Britain.”

Now all they have to do is pick a name. Should be easy, right?

If not mistaken they name their car as the Aston Martin LMP1 Car for they have followed the LMP1 class after abandoning the GT1 Class. However, for the speed performance of this car I would say that I’m impressed with those figure!

Most probably it would be a speedy car. Don’t spoil the car racing and although they are not my bet still I want to see a more reliable and power on their current production.

That’s right. I’ve been thinking on how to get a discount on the subscription? I am a big fan of this magazine and I am planning to collect all issues as well. Can we also order back issues?

Huh, this is really tough. I can’t think of a name maybe we can mix all the names of the famous personalities. I don’t know. Let me try it once again.

They are searching a name to compete in 24 hrs. Le Mans race for victory. And glad to say that they named it LMP1 Race Car. It really shows the personality of the car.

Looking back at the name of the Aston Martin’s car, they are all compose of number. So, I bet the one that will win, definitely has number on it. I think its a hint already!

I think they need a new motor and transmission. The car is beautiful though
compare to the other car in the same class. I love DBR1!

I’m wondering if the 007 was deliberate, seeing as Bond drives an Aston?

yes.. I guess they get the idea from the ford. but this is a good contest though.

I noticed this when reading the racecar Engineering site. Really, if you’re a gearhead, you should get a subscription to their magazine and check the site often.

Having won the GT category twice at Le Mans in 2007 and 2008 and the Le Mans Series outright in 2009, it is indeed really hard to choose what will be the name of their 2011 Le Mans Race Car. Even I, can’t think of a name. Well, goodluck to Aston Martin and hope them to get a suitable and perfect name for their 2011 Le mans race car.

How can you say that AM’s first effort was with the “Mighty Hunter” (Nimrod to most people)? They won outright in 1959 which is why this year is so special…..50 years ago this year. They also won the fiercely contested GT1 class the last 2 years on the trot. Besides many other second places over the years, I think it’’s fair to say that AM have had rather good success at La Sarthe!

You should call it Aston Martin Le Mans Edition smiley

this looks like a F1 car with less bars and a more sinuous body shape!

lool As if anyone believes that! They already had "007" on the car and probably want us all to call it James Bong... sorry, Bond.
