Audi designs $140k grand piano
Audi is celebrating their 100th anniversary as an automaker this year and in order to commemorate such a milestone, they have turned their attention from the automotive trade in order to create something as beautiful as their cars. When you think of the luxury automaker Audi, models like the A4 and A6 sedans or even the R8 super car comes to mind, but the automaker also has a historic tradition of innovation with racing cars like the Sport Quattro rally car and Auto Union GP machines.
The luxury automaker invested $140,000 with the craftsmen at Vienna’s Bosendorfer workshop in order to create this exquisite grand piano. The alluring musical instrument will be unveiled to the public on July 16, 2009 at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt as part of the German automaker’s century of Vorsprung durch Technik celebration. The grand piano is the perfect symbol of the automaker’s luxury and elegance that can only be displayed by a functional piece of art that serves a higher purpose than just looking good sitting still, just like their vehicles.
