Audi hasn’t even released official details on the A7 Sportback and already recent spy shots reveal that the company is also preparing a four-door coupe model that will be unveiled in September at the Paris Auto Show.

The top version, RS7 Sportback is based off of the 2011 Audi A7 and will be powered by Audi’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine in combination with the firm’s new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Total output will be an impressive 580 HP.

Other models in the line-up will use a range of V6, V8 and V10 petrol and diesel engines.

The 2012 A7 was previewed by the Sportback concept shown at last year’s Detroit show and is said to share a similar look with the A8, but oriented more into luxury than functionality.

“The overall look is less formal than that of the A8,” says Audi design boss Stefan Sielaff.

Sales will begin in March 2011.
