At the moment Audi is only offering three version of the R8 sports car: V8, V10 and spyder. But in the near future Audi will bring at least three new models in the R8 family.

The first to come will be a V8 version for the R8 Spyder. It will be powered by the same 420-hp, 4.2-liter V-8 engine and will go on sale in early 2011 at an estimated price of $135,000.

Later on, Audi will come with an even more sportier version. It will be inspired by the current R8 LMS and will include more carbon fiber parts to reduce weight and will deliver more power (somewhere in the same area as the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera).

For those who were still hopping, Audi will not develop the production version of the R8 V-12 TDI, but we will see a production version of the e-tron.

And finally, the current six-speed sequential R tronic gearbox will likely be replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Audi R8 line up is already awesome. Well, the first time that I fell in love with Audi cars is when I played an Audi TT on NFS. Although the game is not that cool as other games such as GT, it can still show some good features of the car in terms of looks and performance. I hope that the R8 line is included in the new soon to be released (should have been released years ago) gran turismo
