Audi’s future models - more info
Audi will launch in the near future three new models: the A1, the R8 Targa and a Mercedes CLS rival.
The CLS competitor is the Audi A7, a model that will share its underpinnings with the next-generation A6, but feature sleek coupé looks and tuned suspension for an involving drive. It will be placed between the A6 and the A8 and will be priced between £40,000 to £50,000.
The Mini challenger, the A1 will debut in 2010. It will be offered in four different versions: a three-door hatchback (bottom right), a five-door and a convertible. The A1 will cost cost around £2,000.
The most expensive model will be an an open-air version of the R8. Called the Spider, it will keep the coupe’s futuristic looks, but have lift-out targa panels instead of a cumbersome folding roof. It will also gain two speedster-style humps behind the cabin. Prices are likely to start from £85,000 when it arrives in 2009.
