It looks like Audi’s onslaught on Tesla is not going to end anytime soon. After launching the E-Tron and announcing war against Tesla Model X, Audi has now revealed that it will showcase the much anticipated E-Tron GT at the upcoming L.A. Auto Show. This time, the Tesla Model S is the hot target.

Let’s Get To Know The E-Tron GT A Little Better

The Audi E-Tron GT will be based on a new platform, jointly developed with Porsche. “Audi will present the first member of another e-platform by the end of 2018: The Audi e-tron GT concept show car, a highly dynamic coupe with a flat floor assembly, is debuting at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The technology in this automobile was developed in collaboration with Porsche; the design and character of the e-tron GT concept are packed full of unmistakable Audi DNA.”

The striking LED’s are similar to what we’ve seen on the E-Tron. The rear gets a raked roofline and a short overhang, adding character to its muscular and sporty rear end. Since it’s a prototype, we expect the same design cues to be carried over.

Our Take

Why go after the weakest member of the herd when you can take down the king of the jungle itself? Do you think the E-Tron GT will get the 800-Volt fast charging that’s seen on the Mission E (now called Taycan)? It should - after all, what is family for. What is your take on this?
