Audi is planning more Porsche killers. An RS version of the TT Coupe is now in the work to take on the Cayman. According to AutoExpress, the car will be powered by a V8 engine. The spy shots show that the TT RS’s exhaust note is virtually identical to the roar of the 414bhp V8 in the RS4 saloon. But does this mean that Audi is preparing a 400 hp TT?

The heavier RS4 can complete the sprint from 0-62mph in only 4.8 seconds and goes on to reach a top speed limited to 155mph – so the smaller coupe should be even faster.

Even if Audi has not confirmed the existence of the TT RS, spy shots say different thing: Audi is indeed planning something big. But only time will tell exactly what! Stay tuned!

let me correct u raymond the carrera 4s that u ’claim’ can do the job can only do 4.1 secs as the R8 does 4.0 jus as easily so even tho they are quite evenly matched the R8 has the advantage as i said earlier the 911 turbo wud be a greater match

I love it. Audi is now my overall favorite of the German luxury cars

actually the chance of an audi out gunning a porsche is Highly unlikely infact so unlikely that if it ever happened i wud have to assume that 1. the audi was a custom built model meaning it had to have performance mods on it an 2. the driver of the porsche had to be a rookie who didn’t kno wat the hell he was 3rdly the carreraS is not in the same league as the R8 therefore it wudn’t be a gud match up but the 911 is an no R8 up to today can match its acceleration or top me i’ve dun my research

Regardless, it doesn’t mean that for Audi to outgun a Porsche is unlikely. Besides, the clinical numbers of 0-60 times are not definitive enough to make a statement of the two. No production Audi in recent times has been a dedicated sporting car except for the TT, now enter the R8. So, lets consider the Carrera 2S...the appropriate rival to the R8. See the recent episode of Top Gear where the two are pitted against each other. Yes, in the quarter mile the Porsche beat the Audi by a nose, but also consider they are driven by two different drivers of differing ability and experience.

The real proof comes out when they are test on the track by the same driver, with the R8 the significant winner. Either way, apples and oranges apply here. Sheer numbers don’t describe the substance of either brand.

A V-8 motivated TT? With Audi’s reputation and proven track record of sensibility, even their consideration of such a project is hair raiser. Or is this just another result of the growing trend of manufactures continued acceptance of more V-8 powered cars?

Yeah, although, this will be qite a challenge for the cayman, with quattro and 400 p, it will fly
