Some people dismiss the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 as a mere money-grab for Aston Martin. After all, it’s not that much more powerful than the “regular” Vantage V8 S, and yet, it costs significantly more than its standard counterpart. But to think of the Vantage GT8 in those terms is to not understand the incredible work Aston Martin put into making the car completely different from the V8 S. Auto Express shares that sentiment when it recently took the Vantage GT8 up for a review.

The perceived “shortcomings” are there, but a lot of cars have shortcomings of their own. What Aston Martin managed to do was to take the things that the Aston Martin GT8 supposedly lacked and worked around them through other methods to create a special edition car that definitely lives up to its billing. From the refined and more aggressive look to the re-trimmed cabin and all the way to the re-engineered chassis, the Aston Martin GT8 is arguably one of Aston Martin’s finest creations.

Think I’m alone in an island with that sentiment? Do check out Auto Express’ review of the limited edition sports car. I’m not going to spoil the details here, but as you can imagine, there’s a reason why I’m sharing this review. A lot of people may have given up on Aston Martin and just as it appears that the company is on the verge of disappointment, it comes out and pulls a model like the Vantage GT8 out of its hat.
