Renault unveiled the current generation Arkana back in 2019 for the Russian market and then in 2020 for the European market. Despite still being very young, it looks like Renault is already preparing a successor for it.

Our spy photographers caught the first prototype testing in Germany, and according to the driver, we are looking at the successor for the Russian version of the Arkana.

However, based on the current situation, the future of the Russian Arkana is still uncertain. The model will be built at Renault's Russian plant in Moscow and is supposed to be offered in the Russian and Asian markets. But, because of all the sanctions against Russia, the future of this plant is uncertain and so is the future of the Arkana.

The prototype caught testing is heavily camouflaged, but it is obvious the new-generation Arkana will be heavily redesigned. We can spot completely new front and rear ends. Even the window lines and the rear doors are completely new. And, of course, since this appears to be the trend lately, the next Arkana will be offered with two-part headlights - a feature we have never seen on any other Renault model.

The future engine lineup is still a mystery, but for sure will be improved when compared to the current model. As a reminder, right now the Arkana is offered with two powertrains: a full hybrid badged as E-Tech and delivering 140 horsepower, and a mild hybrid badged TCe 140 with 145 horsepower.

Expect to find out more about the next generation Arkana in the next few months.
