In the past few years, supercars have been all the rage in blockbuster movies, having appeared in a growing number of them that involve superheroes. Iron Man began that trend when Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., was seen riding the Audi R8 a few years back. Since then, a lot of high-budget summer movies have taken to exotics to serve as the protagonist’s main ride, including the Audi R8 Spyder in Iron Man 2, the Ferrari 458 Italia in the about-to-be-released Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 in The Dark Knight.

We bring this up because, apparently, the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, will feature none other than the Lamborghini Aventador as Bruce Wayne’s new set of wheels.

A couple of photos were even snapped by a forum member of Luxury4play showing the Lamborghini supercar in full movie dress up, including plates that say "Gotham" to go with a slightly different, yet subtle, silver finish.

It’s unlikely that this Aventador is going to be the new Batmobile for the movie because it doesn’t have all the trinkets and gizmos that are mandatory for Batman’s crime-fighting ride. Chalk the Aventador up as the latest in Bruce Wayne’s growing auto garage. Let’s just hope that it doesn’t suffer the same fate as that of the Murcielago LP640 - it crashed heavily in one scene - in the Dark Knight.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Are they serious that they are going to make this car into a batmobile? I think they are not putting an gizmos mandatory for fighting ride.

If that so.. they need to exert a lot of effort to ruined the natural sportiness and elegance of this vehicle. This car is not appropriate for the role of batmobile plus I don’t want to see this car crashed or explode.

I was fascinated with these luxury cars being featured in several films. Also, take note of these high end cars that became an instant superstar upon showing the film. That is more likely a great combination, definitely an eye candy.

Yeah, that would probably be the case. But I wonder what it would look like. If I can remember, the first one was blown up when Batman made it to self destruct.

Once and for all, let’s clear this one up. This baby won’t be the Batmobile for the third film. Considering that the first one is more like a truck, the one for the new film will likely be the same.

Well, if Bruce Wayne will drive this one, I think the whole gotham city will surely recognized him as Batman because only the Batman drives this kind of car.

The crash scene of Murcielago LP640 in The Dark Knight makes me shout out "Holy !!!" very loudly...

Well, that one seems to fit Bruce Wayne more. I remember that the Murcielago was totaled when it collided with a truck in the Dark Knight. Now I wonder what the new Batmobile would be.

hmm. That sounds good! It seems that they are making a new image for the batmobile. However, I was thinking if they are going to change the car then is it possible that same goes with the batman costume?hehe

Does it mean that the Aventador would be the next bat mobile? Heck! Batmobile doesn’t have a good reputation. Many can stand laughing to this kind of car! And I think it would be a hard to turn this car into a ugly version!
