The Tesla Model 3 has been around for a very long time compared to the other players in the segment. But, so far, it has emerged the winner almost every single time. Now, however, there seems a true competitor that has what it takes to topple the segment-leader – the Polestar 2. Polestar is trying to disassociate itself from Volvo and to become a strong, standalone performance brand that can become the next Tesla; or rather, the Tesla-killer!

Tesla Model 3 versus Polestar 2 Is a Good Battle!

The folks at Throttle House laid their hands on the Tesla Model 3 Performance and the Polestar 2 Performance. The Model 3 is listed as a 480-horsepower beast whereas the Polestar 2 is rated at 402 horses. Speaking of the range, Polestar 2 comes with an EPA-estimated range of 233 miles, whereas the Model 3 Performance has a range of 315 miles for the 2021 model; 16 miles more than its predecessor.

While these things make the Model 3 look better, there are a lot of other differences between the cars as well. For instance, the seating position is lower in the Tesla Model 3, but the Polestar 2 has a crossover-ish driving position. The Tesla has build issues, but the Polestar 2 is well-screwed and engineered. The Model 3 offers better steering feedback, but the Polestar seems better calibrated. The Polestar 2 has an instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, but the Tesla shows all the data on the huge touchscreen on the center console. The Polestar 2 also comes with multi-adjustable Öhlins dampers, unlike the Model 3. The list is exhaustive.
