The last time Bentley->ke15 took the Bentayga->ke5088 to the Nurburgring,->ke999 it seemed as if the Brits were training an elephant for a ballet contest. Now that the SUV->ke145 has returned to Germany's infamous race track, it's safe to assume that the elephant is still having trouble with his plie.
Fortunately, there's no ballet contest, and while this doesn't make the Bentayga look any less silly on the 'Ring, it will learn a few tricks for the road from these testing sessions.
The SUV's appearance is yet another thing that hasn't changed recently. Specifically, the Bentayga is still wearing a thin layer of camouflage, which obscures certain areas of the body, including the bumpers, headlamps, taillights, and the quarter-windows. Bentley isn't yet ready to showcase it to the public and will probably do so toward the end of the year. Expect the SUV to make its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show->ke235 in September and go on sale in the first half of 2016.
Set to become the most expensive SUV on the market, the Bentayga will be launched with two engines at first, a gas-guzzling 6.0-liter W-12 with impressive performance, and a milder 4.0-liter V-8. Customers concerned about how much they spend at the pump will get a diesel version in 2017, while tree-huggers will be able to purchase a hybrid->ke147 later on.
