A few weeks ago Top Speed announced that the Bertone Mantide->ke3441 will have a limited production run of only 10 units, priced at $2 Million each. The next big news from the Italian design studio, is that according to Bertone the Mantide super car will smash the car it is based upon, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1's Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 26.4 seconds.

According to Jason Castriota, the project's chief designer: "It has been a dream of mine from the outset of this project. The logistics are not easy, as we’ll need to hire a professional driver - somebody who’s truly a Nurburgring expert like Stefan Roser - and then get the circuit closed for a few days."

If they can ever find their ring-meister, the Bertone Mantide's LS9 power plant that makes a total of 638 HP allow the Italian muscle car to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 217 MPH, about 12 MPH faster than the ZR-1.
