So no one thought the BMW->ke178 could get any smaller. Well, take this, naysayer. During the Innovation Days in Asia, BMW was in the middle of a presentation when they “accidentally” left images of what could only be the BMW 0-Series on the screen. We say “accidentally” only because leaking images seems to be the best way to drum up some excitement these days and we wouldn’t put it past BMW to join in the parade.

We first discussed the possibility of a BMW 0-Series back in 2009 with a tentative release year of 2012. Now it may seem that the appearance of the 0-Series might be closer than we originally thought. The BMW 0-Series will be a front-wheel-drive supermini, placed between Mini->ke57 and 1-Series->ke313. It will feature twin kidney grilles, a front apron inspired by the 1-Series, a sweeping tailgate, and subtle spoilers. It also borrows some design features from the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept->ke3491.

It will be offered with a wide choice of petrol and diesel engine, including a new version of the 161bhp 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbodiesel, which debuted as a range extender on the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.
