In the ever-important battle for king of the hybrid limousines, BMW is trailing both their countrymen from Mercedes Benz and the Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus. Lexus has the “V12 image” set with their LS600h and the Germans have just revealed their new S400 Hybrid. It may appear like BMW has fallen by the wayside, but they might just be playing possum, because the Bavarian automaker has an ace up its sleeve for the company’s home show in Frankfurt.

BMW will unveil the 750hi, a hybrid 7 Series powered by a 4.4 Liter biturbo engine pumping out 407 HP and a fuel saving automatic transmission. The internal combustion engine will be paired with an electric motor with energy regeneration technology. One thing is for sure; the BMW’s unit will definitely won’t be outshined by the 20 HP unit in the Mercedes S400 BlueTEC HYBRID.
