If you live in Bridgeport, Connecticut, we don’t blame you for doing a double-take on this rather unconventional BMW->ke178 billboard that’s on display along Interstate 95. By itself, the billboard is relatively simple with the words “The overnight test drive” plainly written on it. But what should get your attention is the mannequin of a man in his PJs sitting beside a teddy bear on top of the billboard.

The whole gimmick looks real enough that local police have been bombarded with 911 calls from concerned motorists who think that the man is real and may have sleep-walked his way on top of the billboard. Ok, the sleep-walking part is a joke but the calls made to the police are all true, with the dispatchers amusingly telling all the callers that it’s only a mannequin and a creative marketing ploy of BMW Bridgeport.

This isn’t the first unconventional billboard BMW has made in the US recently. Last year, BMW Santa Monica made headlines around the world for its so-called ‘Billboard Wars’ with Audi->ke14.

This particular one, however, stands out for an entirely different reason.
