A little over five years ago, BMW->ke178 introduced the 1-Series->ke313 for those who dreamt of owning a BMW, but didn't have the financial resources to afford the brand's higher-line of cars.

The dream that started in 2004 has reached a milestone achievement in 2010 after the car brand announced that they have built the 1-Series' 1 millionth unit. The milestone model - a three-door 118d - made an appearance at the Leipzig Motor Show where it was personally delivered by BMW to its new - and mighty proud - owner.

The BMW 1-Series has become quite a successful line for BMW. The cars' slightly cheaper price tags have opened the doors to an entirely new and untapped market for BMW. While still in its first generation, the success of the 1-Series is a testament to the risk BMW took by in producing a base model below the 3-Series. And just as the sky is blue and the grass is green, that calculated risk paid off beautifully for BMW.

Cheers to the boys from BMW for their 1 millionth 1-Series. Cheers to a million more, fellas!
