We already knew that BMW is preparing a facelift version for the entire 3 Series lineup. In the past few months, we caught the facelift 3-Series sedan and its M-Performance version, plus the 3 Series Touring out testing in the snow.

Today, our spy photographers caught three different 3 Series cars in the wild: the BMW 3 Series Touring, the 3 Series Sedan, and, for the first time, the new BMW Alpina B3 Touring Facelift.

On all three prototypes, only the front and the rear wear most of the camouflage, because this is where most of the changes will happen. We expect new headlights and taillights design, plus redesigned front and rear bumper. The running light signature seems to be sharper than before. Even the grille will be slightly updated. But, thankfully, we won’t be seeing the supersized grille in the facelifted 3-Series.

The interior, too, will be updated with a new dual-screen curved infotainment and instrument cluster that is said to feature iDrive 8. Think about models like the BMW iX and 2 Series Active Tourer to make an idea of what to expect.

As for the engine lineup, we do not expect to see any updates under the hood, but we have to remind you that the 3 Series facelift will also bring us the first-ever 3 Series Electric. As for the Alpina B3, it should be offered with the same twin-turbo straight-six that delivers 462 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

Expect the facelift 3 Series to debut sometime in early 2022, with sales in Europe beginning in the summer, and in the States, right in time for the 2023 model year.
