BMW->ke178’s new M3 GTS has only been in the market for close to three months yet somehow, all the available models have been wiped out of the dealerships. Yep, according to Dr. Kay Segler, the head of BMW’s M Division, the BMW M3 GTS has officially sold out.

Based on the BMW E92 M3, the track-based BMW M3 GTS attracted a lot of positive attention for being a car that lost a lot of weight – 190 kilos, to be exact – yet somehow, was also able to increase its production output to as much as 450 horsepower. In addition to that, the car’s capacity was also bumped up from the standard 4.0-liter V8 to a 4.4-liter variant, giving the M3 GTS more than enough power and speed that it became such a popular production-ready, track-based sports car that it sold faster than anyone expected.

As for those unfortunate ones that couldn’t get their hands on the M3 GTS, not all is lost – sort of. BMW is expected to release the first street-legal-M-racer sometime in the next year and while the company has yet to announce a specific number of models that are going to be sold, it figures to be another one of those first-come, first-served cars that the BMW M3 GTS ended up becoming.
