BMW has big plans for the future years: increase of the profits from 8% to 10% and an increase of of the sales to 1,8 million cars, both within 2012. In order to do this, BMW prepares new models based on the existing platforms, particularly those of the 1 and 3-Series.

The first big news is the V3, a small sporty Van based on the 3-series platform. As an alternative, BMW also considers a two-door 3-series Shooting Brake and a two-door coupe/hatchback. From all three only one will see production, and the favorite being the 3-series Van.

Then there is the Progressive Activity Sedans (PAS), already announced, based on the 5-series platform and the production version probably to be called V5.

On the sports-car section BMW prepares a Z8 Roadster with components from the 6-series and a small Z1 based on the 1-series. Another rumors talk about a "City-Mobil" - a super-mini BMW. Anyway, final decisions will be made this fall or in the next six-months.
