Remember the Lamborghini Insecta Concept that was designed by Iulian Bumbu, a 28 year-old Romanian designer that received a Masters in Car Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design Milano? Well here is the up and coming artists latest creation. If the German automaker hasn’t already gotten a hold of these sketches and made plans for a future concept car then they will be very sorry when another manufacturer picks up Mr. Bumbu to add some fresh styling to their lineup of vehicles.

BMW S.X. Concept
- image 311046

The S.X. concept is Iulian’s personal vision as to what the future luxury sports coupe will look like. The concept features a minimalist design that appears to focus more on cutting through the air with efficiency than finding a place to position decorative ornaments around the car. The body is mainly made up of a pair of bold arches over the front wheels, a pair of broad shoulders that will most definitely be visible in the rear view mirrors and a windshield that is so slanted back that it almost continues the slope of the hood into the roofline.

The S.X. fits into BMW’s range just above the full sized sports coupe, the 6-Series. The S.X. is planned to have a longer wheelbase than the 6, but will be slightly shorter in overall length than the premium luxury coupe. The S.X. concept features the same styling language as the current range of BMWs, but adds a high mounted brake light which is almost incorporated into the edges of the rear window and just below them rest a pair of vertical tailpipes while up front there are a pair of lateral vents that let hot air escape from just behind the front wheels. If this concept ever does make its way into production, we expect for BMW to have quite a success on their hands.

Sweet car. I like on how fluid the lines of the car looks like. I wonder why don’t they change the grills on this concept car? Its futuristic anyways and its not a signature for BMW.

Check this out : The One-77 was the first car that popped into my head. I am not impressed as not one part of that car looks like a BMW. Too bad it didn’t came from the BMW design team, I mean the same team that brought us the X6, 5 Series GT. Yeah, right. No soup for this one.

The BMW brand continues to lose its identity. Besides, I think this is a bit pointless given that this was drawn up by someone NOT EMPLOYED BY BMW!! By the way, the front looks weird.

On a weekly basis we should be seeing the;
S.X. sedan
S.X. wagon
S.X. crossover
and last, the S.X.M.

Next thing is, BMW will probably call it a Sports Activity Yuppie and limit production to 3 so they will sell out once the dealerships order them.

No, well look at the design. Yes, I would say it has a strong Aston Martin take, but the rear favors the 6 Series with its integrated spoiler and the rear lenses says BMW. The lower defuser is unique, and how the trunk folds into the rear window again favors the 6 Series. From the rear flank forward, its Aston Martin. Move around to the front, the grill looks unique but very BMW. The front air vents are smart, not the language we would see from BMW, but if they resembled the same from say the X6, it would seem familiar. The lens are from the 7 Series design language, can’t go wrong with that. Hey BMW needs something like this yesterday.

I will give it to you that car does look amazing.....BUT....this car looks 90% like aston martin than or a ferrari 599 than anything else. I see where BMW is going and I think they are on the right track but get rid of the ASTONFERARRI design and make it more BMW-ISH...

The car looks like it could actually be possible, wearing design cues that echo the recently redone Z4. The renderings call to mind the recently scuttled Concept CS from BMW’s own pens, depicting a car that’s extra-wide, super-low, and ultra aggressive. In any case, BMW could do worse than this flight of fancy.

if you look at the photo taken of the side of the car you can easily notice that this car is an imitation of the Infiniti Essence.

Looking at some of the controversial recent designs coming out of BMW, many enthusiasts might think that it’s not hard to imagine that study hall doodles would be preferable. With this stylish concept one can say that Iulian Bumbu has applied skills learned at a Milanese automotive design program to a BMW etude and not a school boy anymore.

I just can’t keep my eye on this S.X. Although, it seem to loose the original features on the classic Bimmer, I would still go for this concept as this gives an impresive evolution in the BMW car line up. This doesn’t seem boring after all.

This design has high-mount brake lights incorporated into the edges of the rear window and the lateral vents located just behind the front wheels. I like the way the Bimmer team rendered this exterior part and I suspect that this goes with the interior as well.

This BMW S.X Concept represents the next generation luxury sports coupe from BMW could look like. And it would be well positioned to take over where the current 6 Series BMW.
