The real Godzilla – or at least the reptilian version of Japanese lore – was never known to be the fastest giant lizard on the block. So when the name pops up on these pages, you ought to know that we’re not talking about the two-legged monster, but instead, we’re pointing to the four-wheeled beast known as the Nissan GT-R->ke1592.

Affectionately given the same nickname as the fire-breathing lizard, the GT-R is, by itself, already one of the fastest and most powerful cars to come out of the Land of the Rising Sun. So when a tuning house like Boost Logic decides to spike up the GT-R’s performance capabilities, then you’re going to see more and more of this type of world records from ‘Godzilla’. In this particular video taken over the weekend at Texas Mile, we have a Boost Logic-tuned Nissan GT-R setting the world record for a standing mile speed of 203.6 mph.

Whereas other vehicles can only dream of reaching these speeds, the Nissan GT-R seems to do it so effortlessly. Then again, that’s why it’s called Godzilla and it doesn’t need to do a whole lot to strike fear in the hearts of many.
