There aren’t many things that are faster than a jet fighter aircraft, but that doesn't stop hypercar manufacturers to occasionally pit their creations against one. In this case, we are talking about the Bugatti Chiron "Les Légendes du Ciel", of which only 20 have been made. The car was officially introduced in November 2020 and features many Aviation-inspired design cues. It's also one of the fastest road-going production cars ever made. However, the question remains: will the Chiron's sheer power be enough to withstand a Dassault Rafale jet fighter and its 7,227 horsepower and 7.5 tons of thrust?

There are many design elements, showcasing the car’s relationship with aviation. The horseshoe grille mesh is styled to resemble planes flying in parade formation and the car’s exposed carbon-fiber side sills feature the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge French tricolor, in order to honor the roots of Bugatti and “The Daredevils of the Sky”.

The interior once again commemorates the French car company and French aviation. It also scores substantial amounts of brown Gaucho leather and hand-crafted scenes of Bugatti’s first successful race car – the Type-13 and a propeller.

The video shows us the two incredible machines having a go at each other at an airstrip, during what seems to be a very cloudy morning.

The limited-edition “Les Légendes du Ciel” is based on a Bugatti Chiron Sport and has the familiar 8.0-liter quad-turbo W-16 with 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet (1,600 Nm). The top speed is limited to 261 mph (420 km/h) and the 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) sprint is dealt with in just 2.4 seconds. Can the French fighter aircraft catch up?
