While I consider it a bad habit, Bugatti has quite the knack for taking a single car and milking the hell out of it to the point that you can’t help but think it’s time for something new. Take the Bugatti Chiron, for example. Launched in 2016, the Chiron has been the basis for no less than 14 different vehicles from the Chiron Sport all the way up to the La Voiture Noire and Bugatti Bolide. Just when you think you’ve finally had enough, here comes Bugatti teasing yet another Chiron-based model, leaving us to wonder just what else can the company make from a single design?

This New Bugatti Wil Be Revealed On June 8, 2021

As you can see from the teaser image above, there’s not a lot to make out of the car that Bugatti is teasing outside of the fact that it is obviously another version of the Chiron. At a glance, it almost looks like a roadster or convertible, but what you’re seeing on the windshield is likely just a reflection of the illuminated wind tunnel behind it. That wind tunnel does tell us that Bugatti was likely trying to do something to improve aerodynamics, but even with the lightened photo we’ve posted at the top of this page, there’s nothing else to see.

With that said, there is at least one educated prediction we can make, and that is that this could be the production version of the Chiron Super Sport 300+, which was said to be revealed sometime in 2021. If that’s the case, the car that we’ll see on June 8, 2021 will be just 1 of only 30 that will be built. Then again, Bugatti’s CEO has made it clear that the company will milk the Chiron until there’s nothing left, stating that “derivatives are a must” back in early 2020.

If this is, indeed, the production version of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ – something that would also make sense given the wind-tunnel teaser image – it was have the same 8.0-liter W-16 engine found in the Centodieci with 1,578 horsepower and some 1,180 pound-feet of torque. The Super Sport 300+ is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible, hence the claims that it can do more than 300 mph. 0-60 mph will be dispatched in 2.4 seconds while top speed will be limited on the production version to 273.4 mph (440 km/h). Rumor has it that there’s an option for a roll cage and the option to remove the electronic speed limiter, but that is far from confirmed, so we’ll have to see what happens there.

In the end, if this is the Chiron Super Sport 300+, we’ll be looking at a car that will sell for $4.3 million at current exchange rates, with the added likelihood that all 30 scheduled for production are already spoken for. Either way, whatever this car is will be revealed at 10 AM CEST or 4 AM EDT on June 8th, so we’ll find out soon enough.
