Named after the Monégasque driver Louis Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron was unveiled in 2016 as a replacement for the Veyron. It was the first production car to deliver 1,479 horsepower (1,500 PS), creating an entirely new sector of hyper sports car performance. The Chiron saw nine different variants, including Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport, and as of January 2022 every Chiron unit has been sold.

The last three Chiron units to be delivered in Europe will be offered as a special edition. Named after L'Ébé Bugatti, Ettore Bugatti's daughter and eldest child, the model will be limited to one Chiron and two Chiron Sport. Two of them were already delivered, and the last Chiron L’Ébé Sport will be delivered before the end of June 2022.

What makes the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé special?

The special edition Chiron L’Ébé will be offered in a special, blue-tinted carbon body with contrasting gold lines. The same gold highlights were also used for the “EB” badging, the famous horseshoe grille, and parts of the 8.0-liter W16 engine cover. The wheels also get the same contrasting gold tint. As you can imagine, that are pretty much all the changes you will see on the car's exterior, plus the L’Ébé’s signature logo hiding under the retractable rear spoiler.

The same story can be told for the interior: there will be very few changes, and it will mostly mirror the exterior. The cabin features the same dark theme with exposed, blue-tinted carbon and contrasting gold highlights. The door panel on the driver's side is finished in “Silk” leather with “Lake Blue” highlights, while on the passenger side Bugatti reversed the color scheme. Both doors feature a motif of the visual evolution of Bugatti’s most iconic cars, ranging from early Grand Prix racers through to EB110, Veyron and Chiron. The same L’Ébé’s signature logo from the exterior is displayed on the treadplates and hand-stitched into the headrests.

There are no changes offered under the hood. This means all three units are powered by the same quad-turbo, 8.0-liter W-16 engine that cranks out 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. And while the Sport version is 18 kg (39.7 pounds) lighter than the standard Chiron, both models need the same 2.5 seconds to hit 62 mph from a standing start. Both models can hit a top speed of 261 mph.

Bugatti said nothing about how much these three special editions cost, but it really doesn’t matter since all three of them are already spoken for. However, think somewhere in the €3.0 million range.

Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said: “L’Ébé Bugatti’s biography of her father consists of numerous diary entries by Ettore himself, letters from his early employees, customers, business partners, and her own experiences. It helps a lot to understand Ettore’s personality, his goals, and the appreciation everyone had for him and his products. With this knowledge, we could transmit the Bugatti DNA into the present time maintaining the essence, grade of perfection, and quality standards up to this very day. Through this unique configuration and use of her name for the final Chiron and Chiron Sport, we wanted to honor her with the status she deserves in our brand’s history.”
