Usually, when we hear about Callaway Cars we automatically think about highly updated Corvette or Camaro Even the AeroWagen comes to mind, but for sure we wouldn't think about a truck or an SUV. All of that is going to change, however, as now the tuning house has decided to take the most advanced SUVs and pickups from General Motors - like the Silverado or the Suburban and transform them into genuine Callaway performance vehicles.

Callaway Upgrade GM Trucks and SUVs

Using the experience it gained creating high-performance Corvettes, Callaway is offering two different packages for the trucks and SUVs: the SC520 and the SC602. The packages will be applied for the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8 engines that power the Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Escalade models model years 2021 and 2022.

In standard form, the 5.3-liter V-8 engine delivers a total of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the 6.2-liter V-8 goes up to 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet. Callaway's models are equipped with the GenThree™ supercharging system, large displacement Eaton TVS rotor pack, and Callaway’s proprietary supercharger housing and highly efficient TripleCooled™ intercooling system. The final additions include superior charge air cooling, to go with new intake and exhaust systems specially designed to support the increased inlet air and exhaust gas flow demands of the supercharged engines. After all these changes, the 5.3-liter engines deliver a total of 520 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque, while the 6.2-liter engines go up to an even more impressive 602 horsepower and 560 pound-feet. Even if we are talking about up to 182 horsepower extra over the standard output, all the changes offered by Callaway comply with emission standards in all 50 states.

What other upgrades are offered?

The two engine packages are not the only upgrades Callaway is offering. The tuner is also offering tasteful aesthetic upgrades that will completely improve the look of the truck or SUV. As standard equipment, all models will get the traditional Callaway badging on both the interior and the exterior, various carbon fiber insertions, including mod-engine covers, anodized door sill inserts, and key medallions. You can also opt for 20 or 22-inch Callaway lightweight alloy wheels that will further differentiate the appearance of the truck while reducing rotating inertia. If you plan to take your truck off-roading, Callaway offers you a special rough terrain suspension system. It increases the ride height by 4 inches and features longer travel and lightweight shock absorbers.

Prices for the two packages start from $24,995 and will be offered with Callaway’s three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty.
