Most of us would agree that luxury and performance cars are unattainable for most of us. Because of this, we spend a lot of time looking for the best possible bargain. Things are not that simple, however, as when you eventually stumble upon an offer that looks like a bargain, things are often not as they seem. The YouTube channel JayEmm on Cars answers a question many of us have asked. Can you get luxury, reliability, and power, at a bargain price?

Before we get to the juicy part, it’s worth remembering one thing – context. Jay actually points this out himself, as in Britain luxury cars depreciate immensely after just 10 years. Essentially, he points out that a 10-year old BMW 1-series and a 10-year old BMW 7-series are about the same price. Obviously, we all know that repair bills will not be the same, but that’s another question.

The Lexus LS430, we see in the video is probably the best car to answer the question. Can you get luxury, reliability, and a V-8 for £5,000? We all know that Toyota and consequently Lexus are a synonym of reliability, but we also know that reliability can vary depending on how a car has been taken care of, over the years. Truth be told, the older the car, the more potential abuse it may have gone through. Not even the most extensive service history can prove otherwise.

Still, that doesn’t stop us from looking at the most car for the buck, with the hope it won’t turn into a money pit. Watch the video below for some helpful insight.
