For the longest time, the Continental GT was only offered with a W-12 engine. Then in 2019, Bentley introduced the V-8 version to the lineup. It offered pretty much the same performance, but the range was considerably higher thanks to lower fuel consumption. Now, the V-8 has been improved even further with the addition of a new S version. While it brings no updates under the hood, the new model focuses on driving pleasure, while also giving the GT and the GTC a more distinctive feeling.

Bentley Continental GT Updates for 2023

Under the hood, the GT S features the same engine as the standard GT version. We are talking about a 4.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. While the engine stays the same, the exhaust has been replaced by a new sports exhaust that will completely change the sound of the V-8. The model also gets Bentley's Dynamic Ride as standard - an advanced 48V electric active anti-roll control system that generates up to 955 pound-feet in just 0.3 seconds. These features will improve the ride comfort at cruising speeds but will also minimize body roll under hard cornering.

The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is done in the same 4.0 seconds as the standard GT version. However, this is considerably more than the 3.6 seconds required by the W-12 version.

Minor Exterior Enhancements

On the outside, it will also be very hard to differentiate the S version from the rest of the V-8 lineup. However, if you look closely, you will notice that all the brightware elements from the other models are not finished in gloss black. The radiator grille is also gloss black, the front and rear lamps have the same dark-tinted treatment, and the same applies for the rear wing. As standard, the model will ride on 22-inch wheels in Y-shape spoke design and are finished in the same gloss black paint as the rest of the exterior elements. As an option, you can also go for a new Pale Brodgar Satin finish. No matter the finish you go for, the GT S will also get red-painted brake calipers. As a secondary choice, you can also go for a set of 21-inch tri-spoke wheels offered in a combination of gloss black and bright machined finishes.

As a final touch, the exterior will feature “S” badges on the front fenders, the exhaust system ends with quad pipes finished in black, and black sill extenders – just like the Continental GT Speed.

Interior Updates, Pricing, and Availability

The interior will be offered in a special two-tone color combination - a unique feature for the S models. Dinamica is found on the steering wheel, gear lever, seat cushion, and seat backrest, while leather is applied on the seat bolsters, door pads, along the instrument panel, and around the console. The "Bentley Motors Ltd" logo on the treadplates is replaced by a simple "S" letter, with the same letter being applied to both front and rear headrests.

Bentley said nothing about the price of the new GTC S, but it is safe to assume it will be placed in between the standard GT V-8 version (priced at $203,825) and the more powerful W-12 version ($225,000).
