Nissan says its pink C+C model, which recently toured Japan in support of breast-cancer awareness, was so popular that the company will make 100 limited-edition versions of the car for sale in Japan only.

Based on the 1.6 Sport, the C+C Pink features 16-inch colored alloy wheels and an electrically folding, Karmann-designed glass roof. The C+C Pink is worth mentioning because, aside from pink Cadillacs driven by high sellers of Mary Kay Cosmetics and the 1955 Dodge La Femme, a heather-pink offering designed to appeal to women buyers, the color is a rarity in the automotive world.

Nissan says it was "inundated" with requests for the pink car following the C+C's participation in the TLC Tour for breast-cancer awareness, which visited 13 cities here between November and January.
