The League of Extraordinary Auto Spies - yeah, we made that up - are at it again and they have a new goldmine to show us: the 2012 Porsche Boxster that’s supposed to be unveiled next year at a still-to-be-decided international auto show.

In this video, a number of Porsche engineers were caught on film recently testing the next generation of the Boxster in pretty cold weather conditions. While the styling cues of the 2012 Boxster looks to be the same as its predecessor, we’re venturing a guess that what’s underneath that hood is far different from the Boxsters that are out on the street these days.

Aesthetically speaking, Porsche has pretty much stuck to a tried-and-tested formula, albeit a few minor tweaks here and there. But even if the car’s look a little too similar for our own liking, Porsche is expected to have the 2012 Boxster be lighter than the old model, which would then equate to better handling and a more fuel-efficient engine.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

Based on the speed movie, it’s suspension is a little stiffer than the previous models of porsche.

Looks like a longer version of toyota MR2. Pretty neat and decent looking car, I bet this will be a Mouth-Watering car on then next car show.
