BMW used the CSL moniker last time in 2004 with the E46 generation M3. Now, the CSL name, which stands for “Coupe Sport Leichtbau” or “Coupe Sport Lightweight” will return with the G82 generation, BMW M4. The car was caught testing again, and this time our spy photographers were able to get even closer and take some pictures of the interior.
The BMW M4 CSL will feature a more aggressive design when compared with the current M4. It will be distinguished by a beefier front splitter, extra winglets, a revised front bumper, and an enlarged rear spoiler and diffuser. The exhaust system will end with titanium pipes and the suspension should be lowered. Also, like all the other CSL models, the future M4 CSL will also be lighter when compared to the standard M4 - rumors talk about 150 pounds.
This time we also got a closer look at the interior of the car, and we can notice that the carbon fiber bucket seats will feature a lot more carbon fiber that the CF seats used in the M4.
As for the engine, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six should be tricked to deliver around 530 horsepower - around 27 horsepower more than the M4 Competition.
The new BMW M4 CSL is expected to be unveiled sometime in 2022, with sales to begin in 2023.
