The current generation BMW 8 Series was launched in 2018, and now, after four years on the market a small facelift is required. The company started to test the facelifted 8 Series Convertible back in May 2021, when we caught the first prototypes out on the Munich streets, and now, as we settle into 2022, BMW is performing another testing session.

The 8 Series Convertible Facelift is back on the streets of Munich, and, as you can see from these latest spy shots, BMW will mostly focus on updating the front and rear end of the car.

If you look very close, you will notice that in fact the new headlights are slimmer when compared to the current ones.

As for the rear, we expect to see a redesigned bumper and new graphics for the rear lights.

A few changes will be done on the interior too, with the biggest updated being a bigger and more squared shaped infotainment screen. There is also going to be an updated software.

Most likely BMW will offer a few small changes under the hood too, but do not expect anything major. Diesel fans also get a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 316 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.

We expect to see the redesigned BMW 8 Series Convertible in the first quarter of 2022
