A BMW with 3-row seating is a big deal. It’s a big SUV, but a big deal in terms of market incursions as well. The 2019 BMW X7 is the first Beemer to have such an arrangement. Ok, the first after the BMW X5, which has an option for an additional two seats. That one, however, had rather cramped third-row seating. Now the X7, with all of its massive size, can fit two regulars in the third row. Why the heck am I telling you all this?

Well, BMWBlog revealed a cool video filmed on the BMW stand at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show with a 6.3 foot Dany getting into the X7's third row of seats. He did fit.

The 2019 BMW X7 Is Comfortable

The BMW X7 is massive. It measures 203.3 inches in length, 78.7 inches in width and 71.1 inches in height. The wheelbase has been stretched to 122.2 inches. Quite impressive. Yet, don’t let the utilitarian look of the outside fool you into thinking that this baby isn’t luxurious enough. It is. You can even witness the absurd amount of luxury, fine stitching, and cool leather on the model unveiled in LA thanks to this BMW Blog Video. If I am not mistaken, it has a combination of Canberra Beige, and Coffee leather (both optionally available).

As the fifth BMW model produced in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the BMW X7 looks to enhance BMW’s presence among super SUVs and large seven-seaters. The model also featured four captain chairs in the first and the second row, as well as two standard seats in the third row. Danny, a 6.3-foot guy that was employed at the stand (a 6.3-foot guy was not there by chance, let me tell you that), had a seat in the third row where he demonstrated the ease of access to the third row. He fit nicely, although, I doubt he’s actually comfortable. But that doesn't really matter now.

As we have learned before, second-row seats slide front and rear by 5.7 inches, with the electronically adjustable backrests. Interestingly enough, the backrests can be folded from inside the vehicle or from the cargo area.

Final thoughts

Although looking rather mean, luxurious and even robust, the BMW X7 is actually a really sensible family hauler. Whether with six or seven seats abroad, the X7 puts convenience in the first place. It will lower to help you load up heavy grocery bags at the back, it will make ambiance on the inside per your tastes and the rear seats will electronically move forward for your kids to get back easily. It’s like a butler. This video proves it.
