The Corvette C7 may be discontinued, but Callaway still makes it in various forms

Callaway Cars has been modifying Chevrolet Corvettes for more than 30 years now. But what you might not know is that Callaway has also been building and racing Corvettes for 25 years, as well as importing them to European countries like Germany.

To celebrate a quarter century of doing that, Callaway Competition created the Champion Edition, a beefed-up Corvette that features many race-bred parts. But it’s not based on the current C8. If you’re a fan of the previous, front-engined C7, you’re in luck because the Champion Edition is an upgraded Corvette C7 Z06.

The Champion Edition is basically a race-spec version of the Callaway SC757.

This code basically means that the 6.2-liter V-8 engine found in the regular Corvette Z06 is paired to a supercharger that increases output to a whopping 757 horsepower. Torque is also quite impressive at 777 pound-feet of twist. But it’s not just extra power and torque.

The Champion Edition is also fitted with a rear wing from the Corvette GT3-spec race car, as well as some aero upgrades from the same model. The suspension is stiffer and ready for track duty, while the cooling system for the engine has been upgraded to handle the new specs. There’s also a new harness bar and a short shifter for the manual transmission.

The car’s menacing looks are further improved by the bigger front bumper intake with "Callaway" lettering and a taller center hood that makes room for the supercharger.

How quick is it? Well, it will take you from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and will complete the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph.
