A tragic accident took the lives of four people today when the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette lost control of the sports car and flipped it over a guard rail, resulting in a pretty gruesome crash that had most of the Corvette's body and car parts scattered along a half-mile stretch.

The accident, which took place near the Van Nuys airport, occurred when the driver of the Corvette was traveling at higher-than-usual speeds before losing control and hitting a guardrail. And that wasn't the end, either. After slamming into the guardrail, the Corvette skidded for several hundred feet and crossed a number of railway trucks before stopping - upside down.

According to the LAPD, three bodies - two men and a woman - were found lying outside the car with the fourth casualty pinned inside the car.

We have to warn viewers; please do not watch this video without being emotionally prepared to handle the gruesome scene. Also, please use this as a reminder that traveling at high speeds is dangerous and should only be done if you are a professional on a closed course.
