Automakers are coming in with some big reveals for this year's SEMA show considering that the 2020 event was canceled. General Motors is no exception as the Detroit giant is in Vegas at this year’s show, with not one or two, but eight concepts. Leading the pack will be its new Chevy Beast concept.
The Chevy Beast Concept
Officially called the “Concept Vision”. the Beast is built on the underpinnings of a humble Silverado. Let’s begin with the way the Beast looks. It’s quite obvious, isn’t it? The name gives it away. The front end looks particularly menacing with those slim LED off-road headlights. It goes really well against the dark shade of paint. Further to that, you have a clamshell hood. The same angular theme continues at the back as well.
If you were impressed by the way the Beast looks from the outside, you’d really want to take a look at the cabin. Step inside and you have just the basics. You won’t find a windscreen or even windows. Full-size doors have given way for simpler ones. You have four Recaro seats along with a safety harness, and a plack on the center console, that show off the specs of the truck. One modern touch is a pair of seven-inch touch screens, that’ll certainly come in handy while traversing tricky and challenging terrain when you’re out and about in the bush.
This otherworldly concept truck that seats four, is nothing short of a Dune Bashing monster, that can handle the worst that you can throw at it. Under the hood lies a 6.2 liter V-8 LT4 Crate engine that produces 650 horsepower, and all this fury is sent to the ground via a 10-speed automatic gearbox, that features a two-speed transfer case as well.
The Mods
The pickup truck’s chassis was shortened. A 4130 Chromoly tubular safety structure was created by engineers, that wraps around a custom lightweight body. The Chassis track also was widened to a staggering 91-inch for added stability, which I’m sure you’d need while blasting down the desert at breakneck speed. The bumpers barely have any overhang that features a 45-degree approach angle, 46.5 departure angle along a 35-degree breaker angle.
The oversized fender flares house adjustable long travel suspension up front and a setup that features a Panhard rod at the rear. The Beast rides on colossal 37-inch AMP Terrain Attack M/T tires, which I’m sure will ensure that you make it un-scaved while returning from your off-road adventures out in the sand. Chevrolet Performance’s big brake upgrade will help the Beast come to a standstill.
Should the tires let you down though, you do have a couple of spares that occupy the bed.

Apart from the Chevy Beast concept, GM also has the 2022 Silverado 1500 High Country Midnight concept, the 2022 Suburban Street Concept, the Hoonigan 2022 Silverado 2500 HD Concept, and the 2022 Tahoe 271 Overlanding Concept at the Chevrolet stand.
To Sum it Up
The Beast is dubbed by many as a real-life Halo-Warthog and I couldn’t agree more with them. But what’s your take on the beast? Should Chevy go ahead and build this one?
