Chrysler has decided to use the CES 2022 as a launchpad to announce its electrification intentions. The automaker revealed the Airflow Concept, which is a preview of the brand’s electric future. Chrysler gave us a glimpse of the design philosophy its EVs will follow moving forward and mentioned that the Airflow Concept will have a dual-motor setup. The brand also announced that the first Chrysler BEV will come out in 2025, and all the cars it sells from 2028 will be EVs only.

What Is The Chrysler Airflow Concept All About?

The Chrysler Airflow Concept is an all-electric crossover that will be pinned on Stellantis’ EV architecture. It looks quite good, honestly, and not dated like the current offerings from the brand. The flowy design has slight resonance with the Pacifica, but is quite different from the 300. The slim grille wears the Chrysler wing badge and is complemented by sleek LED headlights.

The side profile looks pretty smart as well. You can see that the Airflow Concept has a long wheelbase. It rides on 22-inch wheels and comes with Celestial Blue cladding. At the rear, you’ve got a slim LED strip that runs the entire width of the crossover. Overall, the concept looks quite smart and doesn’t seem to have any extravagant design schemes that may not make it to production.

The cabin looks like a nice space to be in. You have a light color theme inside that gives an airy, spacious feeling. A digital instrument cluster sits behind the tri-tone, flat-bottom steering wheel. In the middle, you’ve got a standing touchscreen infotainment system with landscape orientation. Under it is another screen for the HVAC control. The passenger gets a touchscreen as well. From the looks of it, everything seems modern, fresh, and ergonomic.

The lounge seats will be more than welcome because the Airflow Concept comes with STLA AutoDrive technology, a Level 3 driver assistance suite. There are Crystalized textures throughout the vehicle. Soft leather has been used for the seats, along with vegetable-tanned leather for the floor mats, fabric, and carpeting. There are a lot of recycled materials as well. Apart from all this, the Airflow Concept also features a panoramic roof and LED ambient lighting.

As for the powertrain and range, the Airflow Concept features an all-wheel-drive system, courtesy of a dual-motor setup that churn out around 402 horses (300 kW) combined. The battery capacity is unknown, but the range will be in the whereabouts of 350 to 400 miles. Perhaps, it’s a 100 kWh battery pack.

Conclusion

There’s no exact word on its arrival, but Chrysler mentioned that its first EV will come out in 2025. So, it’s safe to assume that the Airflow is still at least three years away. If the Airflow was to be launched today, then it would take on the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Kia EV6, the Tesla Model Y, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
