This week, it was announced that Trevor Creed, Chrysler’s senior vice president for design, will retire at the end of the month. Ralph Gilles will take over as vice president for design on Sept. 1. Gilles, who is most known for designing the Chrysler 300, already has big plans for Chrysler telling the Free Press on Tuesday that he wants to get Chrysler’s "cars to be sexy again." Instead of focusing on edgy designs, Gilles says he will move Chrysler more to an ‘organic’ design theme. Gilles wants shapes that are more organic but with character, such as the Dodge Zeo and EcoVoyager concept cars.

Gilles will also focus on redesigning Chrysler interiors. "For me it’s about getting this monkey off our back about interiors. It’s something I’ve already started and you’ll see some results," Gilles said, speaking of the redesigned Dodge Ram.
