Here are teh first pictures of the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country, and its 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan twin.Tha car seems to have a completly new design with more modern shapes and lines but it maintaines the same general form of the body.

Most noticeable is the more upright shape to the D-pillars which gives the vehicle a boxier look from behind. This not only changes the whole profile of the minivan, it allows Chrysler to expand interior volume without adding to the Town and Country's already sizable length.

The Caravan will have roll down electric windows in the sliding doors. It is boxy and has an angular look. Production date is August 2007 and it should be arriving at dealers by September 2007.

Perhaps the most important features of this minivan are said to be a higher quality due to the team-based manufacturing and other new systems, better gas mileage, better acceleration and a quieter interior.

The 2008 Chrysler Town and Country will have roll down electric windows in the sliding doors, another big change in this angular minivan.

A six-speed version of the current four-speed automatic is being fitted for the new minivan. This transmission will a require Chrysler’s special synthetic transmission fluid, and will be more reliable than current automatics, thanks partly to Chrysler’s new endurance standards.

We dont have the pictures with the interior but we can tell that a mix of metallic and wood trim will be used to accent the dash. Chrysler also appears to be maximizing interior storage space as the driver's door not only has a deep storage bin it also looks to have an integrated storage pocket of some kind in the upper section just below the armrest.

The car will recive Stow 'n Go folding seats that were introduced on the current-generation Town and Country but we expect to offer a power-fold feature for even easier operation.

As the engines we know that tha car will use a new diesel engine, with an optional automatic gearbox. The new 2.8 CRD engine delivers 110 Kw (150 bhp) of power at 3,800 rpm and best-in-class torque figures of 360 Nm (266 lb.-ft.) at a low 2,100 rpm.

Chrysler engineers paid particular attention to "launchability," the rapid take off from standstill. The accelerator pedal also features a kickdown detent that allows the driver to actively control the downshift of the transmission and the vehicle's acceleration at higher speed (a feature known to TorqueFlite users).
